Patty Raymond is an experienced teacher and social worker that has gone on to provide years of trainings to adults working with children, families in various capacities, and with others in alternative certification programs seeking trainings to become certified to teach in the state of Texas. She earned her M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston as well as an Educational Administration & Supervision Certificate from Texas A&M International University in Laredo. She is certified in Bilingual and Regular Education PK-6th, Special Education PK-12, and Health Education PK-12. She maintains her LMSW-IPR in social work and is owner and director of Abrazo Case Management Services for Children and Pregnant Women, serving families in Hidalgo County. Lastly, Patty is a multi-award winning children’s book author under her pen name of Patty York Raymond. She is best known
for writing children’s picture books with rich language that incorporate music
and movement and celebrate family and heritage. It’s Too Windy! and The
ABCs to Ranching—along with their corresponding original theme songs,
“That’s What My Grandma Said” and ”Take Me To The Ranch,”—have
received local and international acclaim. In addition to her published works
for children, Patty contributed the poem, “We Are Sisters” featured
in the Poets Facing The Wall anthology by The Raving Press in
